You don’t have to try and convince me that Ayn Rand was a word that rhymes with runt. All of her alleged stories (really just diatribes against workers, the state, and the poor) are like that.Well I’m not sure we are all talking about the same show but this song was featured in ‘Damnation’ , it was on Netflix in my country. The original song is from US Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules Short seegers called ‘which side are you on’. The show is about a strike organiser and a strikebreaker. It’s not a masterpiece or anything I really enjoyed itThe song was originally written by Florence Reece in 1931. She was an organizer in Harlan County, KY. Pete Seeger did record it and play it alot. There is a movie called Harlan County, USA which is about a 1970s strike in Harlan and the conditions they faced then. Harlan is the site of arts resistance right now with a great theater group called Higher Ground that mobilizes people’s oral histories into plays staring community members, the plays focus on things like opioid addiction, unemployment, outmigration of youth and environmental degradation from coal companies: also the lead up to the Battle of Blair Mountain the Republican Governor took the guns away from the miners. Is that the only case of the US government taking people’s guns from white people?

Best US Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules Short
Holy crap that sounds fantastic. Reminds me of my country’s fight for independence. The group that organized it had a US Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules Short branch that recruited and inflamed the population by way of theater plays. Also led to something that has been called “institutionalized bureaucratic rape.” Basically if a miner got injured his wife could continue to feed her family while he recovered. If he took longer than 30 days to recover, she would be required to sleep with company men or let the family starve. Sleeping with these women was also a “perk” of being a mine guard.Union workers fought and literally died for short and long term disability so your wife doesn’t have to have sex for bread because you got hurt. Its a beautiful use of the medium. The strike is happening in Alabama Coal country in the middle of bumfuck nowhere where there ain’t much going on besides the 3 coal companies in the area. It’s also Trumpland voters squaring off against The Company and that doesn’t make for as simple and flat a story in the media so it’s not been getting traction. No perfect victims for alternative media and of course mainstream media hates covering labor actions to start with.
