Reading the OP’s responses, seems like it’s almost certainly racism that grandma’s kids were aware of (hence trying to set things right without making a big deal of it) and even OP picked up on, despite being one of the favored white grandkids.Pretty clear that OP’s understandably tempted but also has a moral compass and cares about her family. Not sure about why the comments here in response are so in favor of doing A Racism because dead racist grandma said to.If OP’s noticing it already, and given that all grandma’s kids are wanting to adjust the inheritance so the grandkids are treated fairly and without telling them, pretty sure grandma was pretty damn racist and OP’s likely the least aware of Together we are a family shirt , as one of the favored white grandkids and still pretty young.Yea, grandma being the only one who is trying to create this divide is pretty crummy; seems the rest of the family (including OP) thinks of their step siblings as part of the family. It’s this weird thing where if the inheritance is really just blood kids, that’s kind of lame but acceptable. We see it often enough here.If it’s racism and the rest of the family doesn’t draw a line between bio and non bio, I think the inheritance should be shared, if for no other reason than to stick it to grandma.

Best Together we are a family shirt
Most of the comments here don’t mention grandma’s racism because until a few hours ago, OP’s post didn’t mention the grandma was racist.Together we are a family shirt made the comment about her racist grandma hours after she posted. She also updated her post without noting it was an edit. The original post (auto pasted in the thread by Bot) says nothing about grandma being racist. The only reason I saw the change was because I was getting notifications of comments one of which mentioned racist grandma. People don’t often go back and see if a post has completely changed once they’ve commented. I don’t usually go back unless it’s super interesting and I want to see what an OP comments. The original post was about just not leaving to step/adopted kids. So the dilemma was about whether she should split money with her step-sister. A lot of us didn’t address the adopted issue since that didn’t apply to OP as she has a step not adopted sister. So if the posts are several hours old, it’s likely before the change not because people are ignoring racism.
