Atlantic City This was the first album where I realised that Bruce didn’t just write good melodies but also some of the best Stuck on you CMA life shirt I have ever heard. I think that the simplicity and almost lullaby melody must of the songs have makes the lyrics even more haunting, especially on Nebraska and My Father’s House (which is my second favorite after Atlantic City). Even though I chose Used Cars for the worst songs I still like the lyrics, but I think that it sounds too much on other better songs on the album.

Wild Billy’s Circus Story Best song: New York City Serenade The River might have been the first album I owned on vinyl, but this was the first Bruce Stuck on you CMA life shirt I bought on vinyl. I’m gonna say something that I think can be controversial so remember this is just my opinion. I think this album is better produced and has better melodies and instrumentals than Born to Run. I still think Born to Run is a better album because the songs are better on that album, but my god is the band’s playing on this album some of the best I have ever heard. Every song has some little details here and there, and they all sound interesting. The only song that let’s it down a bit is Wild Billy’s Circus Story, but even my least favorite song has an interesting soundscape, which is really improved by the Tuba (could be a trombone, not sure). I hate to pick a favorite song by an artist, but if I had to choose it would be a tie between Jungleland and New York City Serenade. I wasn’t alive in 1973 and I have never been to New York, but when I listen to New York City Serenade I feel like I’m there. The music is beautiful, sad and positive all that same time. I don’t really know how to explain it, just go and listen to it.
