Not really history, but one thing that’s often overlooked in the states is that these people are still around today and their cultures have changed within the context that’s been forced upon them. Many Americans learn about them as people from the past, but they’re still around and many of these communities are thriving and learning to deal with modern problems in a way that makes sense for them culturally. For instance, many tribes are struggling with losing their language as their elders pass away, but some are having great language revitalization efforts with school children, which is so cool!I live out near the Reservations in WNY, but all I was taught is that it’s “Indigenous lands”, and that’s it. You’ve opened up my eyes, even if just a little. As someone who used to be a polyglot (and has completely forgotten my birth language since moving to America), I can understand why the languages of certain tribes and cultures are so valued. It’s something that connects you to your families and community, even if it’s just a rare dialect. Thank you for the little lesson, Strong no my friend Im far from it what youre seeing is simply a weak person with a very strong god shirt
Best Strong no my friend Im far from it what youre seeing is simply a weak person with a very strong god shirt
I used to be a very narrow person, and a bit of an ass. I try to be better, and Strong no my friend Im far from it what youre seeing is simply a weak person with a very strong god shirt being attentive to the issues of others and sympathizing with people instead of being emotionally detached will be (wait for this totally shocking concept) a good thing. Besides, world could always use more kind and attentive peoples. Might as well start with myself, right?
