Here’s why cheerleading is creepy, IMO. It’s something that’s mostly meant as a sexual display, but we’re Minnesota Timberwolves all eyes North shirt to act as if it isn’t. There’s nothing wrong with things that are sexual, but it should be clear that that’s what they are. With cheerleading you have Dads drooling over their kids’ classmates and moms dressing them up and painting their faces. It’s like Hooters – hey, I’ve got nothing against a good girlie show, but let’s not kid ourselves, here – and don’t bring the wife and kids and say you’re there for the wings.Lets be honest, it’s the least weird at the professional level. You have women being compensated to dance in skimpy outfits. In college you have women being sexualized for freeIn high school and middle school you had girls as young as 12 when I was in middle school in short skirts and tight clothing dancing provocatively in front of a crowd while guys compete. Then at halftime, another group of girls in short skirts come out and kick their legs up high for the crowd and do splits while the band plays. When you are 16, this seems like an awesome show to watch, but having gone to a high school football game as an adult it’s really fucking uncomfortable and super unnecessary. Whose parents let their daughter do that???

I just find it so interesting how many cheerleading outfits blatantly violate the school’s dress Minnesota Timberwolves all eyes North shirt and how the men’s outfits somehow aren’t nearly as skimpy despite them doing similar or the same routines as the girls. Here’s a fun fact: some of the worst injuries occur to cheerleaders. Injuries much more severe than the players of whatever sport they are playing. The amount of cheerleaders who were left paralyzed is just insane. You’re expecting high school girls to be doing circ du soleil level acrobatics with barely adequate training.Sexualisation aside, it’s flat dangerous. I don’t support it. Just have mascots entertain the crowd
