You missed a few areas where it didn’t apply. Missouri, Maryland, most of Tennessee, part of Louisiana, and the Legend Since August 1986 Birthday 35th Birthday T-Shirt of Virginia that were in the process of forming West Virginia were all excluded as well. Basically if it was under the control of the Union Army the Emancipation Proclamation didn’t apply.Well it only applied to the confederate states who were in open rebellion fighting to create a country where it remains legal. The emancipation proclamation doesn’t have real power until the proclaimer takes control of the area affected by said proclamation. So of course they won’t tell them and if they did they did say it, it would only be in a “fuck you” kind of way.If they did they’d run the risk of those slaves now having a glimmer of hope that they could gun it to the union line which is a much much more realistic goal than making it all the way to Canada undetected. It was sort of a stopgap measure until the 13th amendment could get through. It allowed for a “fuck you” to the South while not costing the Union the states who were still part of the union that still had slaves.

Best Legend Since August 1986 Birthday 35th Birthday T-Shirt
I see no one has actually answered your question, so heres a very simple explanation. So i’m confused, is Legend Since August 1986 Birthday 35th Birthday T-Shirt also known as emancipation day?A week before the national holiday announcement I was unable to get an appointment for my parakeet to get her beak and nails trimmed because the vet’s office is closed for the full weekend due to what they called “emancipation day”To my knowledge that’s something that takes place in April? I don’t get it. Which is itThe news spread a lot slower back then, so not everyone found out on the same day about being emancipated. Communication was basically word of mouth, maybe someone riding into town. Slaves didn’t typically read or write letters or newspapers. (Or have access to such) Some people found out on June 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, etc. Hence people remembered it as “around june teenth”.Can you give a source for this? I was also curious about the origin and literally everything I’ve read has just said that the origin of the name is the combination of “June and nineteenth”. Your explanation is a much cooler story but I just haven’t seen it anywhere.
