The second set kicked off with my all-time favorite pairing, “Scarlet Begonias” and “Fire on the Ben Kissel Club Shirt.” I wasn’t used to hearing Weir sing “Scarlet” but it was still amazing to see the crowd react to the song and the segue into “Fire.” “Fire on the Mountain” was the first song I ever heard from the Grateful Dead and I think my uncle knew that, too. It was special moment to feel Lesh’s bass shake the building and to hear those all familiar verses sung with some serious gusto from Haynes. “Fire” from that night was, and still is, a truly amazing live music for me.

Best Ben Kissel Club Shirt
The second set continued like most in the Dead’s career with the creepy “Drumz and Space” segment – not for the faint of hearts or for those that like Ben Kissel Club Shirt. What came out of “Space” surprised everyone in the building. It was a slow churn and turn into the Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” albeit a slower, noodley version. The final highlight of the night for me came with the classic Sunday encore, “Samson and Delilah.”
